About 380 students from 55 secondary schools and polytechnics all over Malaysia partook in four sessions of VEXCode VR workshop, recently. Hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Robotics Club MMU Melaka in collaboration with the Student Enrollment Office (SRO) and IFI (HK) Ltd., the sessions were conducted by the Robotics Club committee members through virtual mode. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazly Salleh Abas, the dean of FET, and Mr. Andy Lee, the President of IFI (HK) Ltd. also delivered their welcoming remarks to all participants via a video.
The workshop is aimed to prepare the participants for the upcoming MMU-VEX Robotics Competition (MVRC 2021) that will be held in September 2021. The participants were exposed to hands-on experience in developing and simulating a virtual mobile robot in the VEXCode VR platform. The workshop also covered several modules namely “Introduction to programming language and VEXCode VR”, “Adjusting drive and changing speed of robot in a project”, “Introduction to control flow”, and “The use of electromagnet in VEXCode VR”.
The workshop also received overwhelming feedback from the participants. The organiser also encouraged the participants to practice more and get themselves familiar with the VEXCode VR platform for their upcoming MVRC 2021.
