MMU Team Wins Gold Award at MTE 2021: The 2nd COVID-19 International Innovation Awards

We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr. Vincent Chan, Ms. Cheah Wei Chee, Mr. Manivanan Sehgar, and Ms. Izyan A’qila Wan Ahmad Faizal for winning a gold award with their invention “PM Tepi” at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2021: The 2nd COVID-19 International Innovation Awards on 17 June 2021. PM Tepi is a digitalized platform with unique features that provides a unique solution for Pasar Malam vendors that are badly affected by the pandemic. People can shop Pasar Malam items virtually and the vendors can also continue their businesses in the comfort of their own homes.

Held virtually from 14 June until 18 June 2021, the awards are created to acknowledge and celebrate all innovation in response to COVID-19. The event is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI), International Federation of Inventors Association, and Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine (MSPTM). A total of 85 entries were shortlisted from different countries including Malaysia, Ukraine, India, Iran, Kuwait, Taiwan, Hong Kong, UK, Thailand, and others. There were 17 categories covering the entire spectrum from prevention to tracking, individual to group technologies and ideas, business concept to humanitarian efforts.
