We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Pavit Coran for making our country and university proud with his winning in the English Speaking Union (ESU) International Public Speaking Competition on the 14th May 2021. Pavit, our student from the Faculty of Law (FOL) beat 35 other participants from 33 countries in the grand finals held virtually from London, United Kingdom, on May 10 until May 14. In his five-minute presentation, Pavit addressed the importance of mental health as well as urged the government and society to raise awareness on this issue.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah congratulated Pavit for helping Malaysia to shine on the global stage. The congratulatory note from King was posted on Istana Negara’s official Instagram. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU president also expressed his happiness and pride over Pavit’s success and it is hoped that this achievement will inspire other students to achieve global recognition for their future endeavours.
