We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fareha Nizam, our postgraduate student from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) for winning the Outstanding Master’s Dissertation Award by the IEEE Malaysia Communication Society and Vehicular Technology Society Joint Chapter 2021. Fareha received the award from Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamad Huzaimy Jusoh, the IEEE ComSoc and VTS Joint Chapter Chair during the virtual ceremony, recently.
With her paper entitled “Radio Resource Allocation Algorithm and Scheme for Interference Management in Device-to-Device Communication in 4G and Beyond” and supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mardeni Roslee and Dr. Zubaida Yusoff, she was the sole recipient of this award beating participants from all over Malaysia. This award recognizes the exceptional work of Fareha in her Master’s thesis and its significant contribution in research, innovation, and support to the IEEE ComSoc and VTS Joint Chapter.
Prior to this achievement, Fareha has also been granted several other awards for the same project. She was also selected for the InSc Young Researcher Award 2021, received Gold Medal at the National Innovation and Invention Competition 2019 as well as 2 Silver medals at the Research Innovation Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship Showcase 2019 (RICES 2019).
