A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Multimedia University (MMU) and three schools- Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar (SAMURA), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dang Anum, and Sekolah Menengah Sains Muzaffar Syah (MOZAC) on the 29th March 2021. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dato’ Dr.Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU President and the school principals namely Tuan Haji Razali Sudin, Tuan Haji Hassan Yahya and Puan Che Romas Noor at Melaka campus.
This pact allows MMU to conduct its community service project in upgrading the school libraries as an effort to improve the educational progress of students in the respective schools. The library facilities and resource centers also need to be upgraded in line with current situations and new norms. Hence, MMU will implement several initiatives such as developing an in-house repository, providing additional scientific materials, and upgrading the integrated library system using open-source software. In addition, MMU will also enhance the school resource center blog, train library management skills, create an eBee Pod corner, and provide support services if needed.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. Zambri Pawanchik, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Admission and Recruitment (VP SMART); Dr. Mohd Rizal Abdul Razak, Melaka Campus Director; Mr. Kamal Sujak, Head of Librarian of Siti Hasmah Digital Library (SHDL); representatives from schools and MMU officials. The guests were also given a short briefing on the RoboSpace lab by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazly Salleh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET).
