Multimedia University (MMU) was honoured to host a working visit by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) delegates on 3rd April 2021. Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, the Chairman of MCMC and his delegate members visited the ZTE-MMU training centre in Melaka campus. The training centre is upgraded with 5G capability as a result of a collaborative effort between MMU and technology provider, ZTE.
The delegate received warm welcome from MMU team including Prof. Dr. Ir. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President of Research, Industrial Collaboration and Engagement (RICE); Dr. Mohd Rizal Abdul Razak, Melaka Campus Director; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazly Salleh Abas, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Heng Siong, ZTE-MMU Training Centre Coordinator and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ervina Efzan Mhd. Noor, Director of Industrial Collaboration & Engagement Center (ICEC).
The visit was also participated by the ZTE representatives namely Mr. Steven Ge, Managing Director; Mr. Tey Khang Lian, Chief Marketing Officer; Dr. Diong Kah Seng, Vice President Technical Service and other ZTE officials. The lab, which has been developed since 2017, provides an opportunity for students and industry to explore and extend technological innovation and vocational training. The delegates also were given a demonstration of the use of 5G technology in the laboratory.
