More than 900 participants attended a virtual forum entitled “Waqf and Endowment Talk: Empowering IPT Endowment in Malaysia” on 2 December 2020. The event was jointly organised by Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM) , Center for Research Education (CeCORE), and Usrah Institution. The forum, which was streamed live via YUM Facebook, had featured highly respected practitioners of Waqf and Endowment in Malaysia namely Prof. Dato’ Dr. Noor Inayah Ya’akub, Rector/Chief Executive Officer of Baitulmal Professional College Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL); Prof. Dr. Ismail Omar, Professor from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM); and Dr. Ridzwan Bakar, Professional Lecturer from Multimedia University (MMU).
Moderated by Mr. Edzham Fitrey, the discussion addressed the current issues that are related to Waqf and endowment as well as to provide alternatives for Waqf integration within higher learning institutions.
