Multimedia University through its Faculty of Engineering (FOE) hosted a Virtual Taiwan Job Fair 2020 recently. The event was jointly organised by Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, and MMU IEEE Student branch. This event had successfully attracted over 100 registrations and live audience.

Mr Yuan-Chih Chang, Director of Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia gave an opening remark followed by Dr. Ooi Chee Pun, Dean of FOE. Both distinguished speakers encouraged graduates and listeners to grab this opportunity to learn about Taiwan and explore the pathways in building careers with multinational companies.

In the event, representatives from four Taiwanese based companies shared their company profile and roadmap namely ASUS, Wistron, CTBC Bank and Taiwan Hon Chuan Group. A vast area of job opportunities was presented, which includes engineering, ICT, business, finance, sales, and others. The job openings presented are based in Malaysia and Taiwan.

Ms Teresa Poon, Senior Advisor, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research revealed the industrial innovation plan of Taiwanese government. She highlighted the emphasis for technology innovation and ecosystem optimisation to enable start-ups and entrepreneurship in Taiwan. Students and professionals can register with Contact Taiwan, an official one-stop online platform, to gain access to job opportunities, visa information and upcoming job fairs.
