Dr. Ridzwan Bakar, a lecturer from the Faculty of Management (FOM) was invited to present socio-economic and endowment (wakaf) model for the State before Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Panglima Raja Lt. Kol. Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, on 9th September 2020. YM Tengku Amir is the son of DYMM SPB Yang DiPertua Agong, who is currently the Timbalan Yang DiPertua, Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP). The two-hour discussion had opened up possibility for social innovations to benefit the people and the State in long run. A public policy on this will be prepared by Dr. Ridzwan and FOM team.
On a different event, Dr. Ridzwan was appointed as member of Expert Group for Malaysian Islamic Accounting Standards (PPIBZW). He received the appointment from Accountant General’s Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Yacob Mustafa. The PPIBZW is a national agenda to standardize Islamic Accounting practices nationwide. The first phase was completed and it will be implemented in January 2021. The whole process takes three years to complete as it involves a rigorous process involving industry experts, accountants from Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia, Auditor General’s Department, Malaysia Accounting Standards Board (MASB), stakeholders, and academics.
