On 17th July 2020, Multimedia University (MMU) and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a virtual ceremony at Cyberjaya campus. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Ho Chin Kuan, the Acting President of MMU and Dr. Veerinderjeet Singh, the President of MICPA with the aim to strengthen the efforts between both parties in terms of knowledge transfers as well the pathway for professional accountants.
Through this collaboration, our Accounting students and academics will be exposed to the cutting edge developments through professional MICPA speakers as well as updated industry-relevant curriculum. In addition, MICPA also recognises MMU’s Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) students to receive MICPA’s Students Sponsorship Programme (SSP). With this programme, the student will be able to link with participating employers for their internship placement, sponsorship to commence the MICPA professional programme in Year 4 of their degree, and a conditional job offer upon graduation.
The virtual ceremony was also attended by Mr. Novie Tajuddin, Chief Executive Officer of MICPA, Dr. Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahim, Dean of Faculty of Management (FOM); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan, Dean of Faculty of Business (FOB) and faculty representatives.
