Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, a lecturer from Faculty of Business (FOB) won the Gold Award in Thesis in 5 Minutes (T5M) Competition 2020 recently. A total of 21 contestants from Malaysian and International universities participated in three categories namely Science & Technology, Engineering and Social Science. The competition was co-organised by Mediate Nexus and Nurture a Fast Network (MNNF Network) at the Palace of the Golden Horses Selangor, Malaysia. Thesis in 5 Minutes (T5M) is a great opportunity to effectively explain the significance of the research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience, using only one slide.
Dr.Yeo also secured another Gold Award in the Final Year Project & Postgraduate Poster Competition (FYPPPC) 2020 under the PhD Social Sciences category, which was also organised by MNNF Network. Judges were impressed with her research poster and oral presentation. In addition, Dr. Yeo’s supervisee, Teo Shen Long also bagged the Gold Award in the FYPPPC 2020. Shen Long beat the other 40 teams from different varsities under the Degree Final Year Project Social Sciences and Humanities category.
