A total of 10 teams from Matriculation Colleges competed in the final round at MySTEMapps competition on 19 February 2020 at Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka campus. The event was organised by the Ministry of Education, Matriculation, and MMU with the support from Emerald Park as one of the sponsors. The event served as an initiative to strengthen the STEM education led by the Education Policy Research and Planning Division.
The final round witnessed the teams from Melaka Matriculation College from Melaka, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Kuala Nerang MARA completed their product pitching and prototype to win the competition. The teams were chosen based on their ideas of account apps which fit the IR 4.0 features.
The main objective of the programme was to respond to the government’s call in emphasising on programmes and activities related to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The event also aimed to leverage student talent in the apps development industry and to promote the production of creative materials through technology. As a result, the team from Perak Matriculation College emerged as champion and walked away with a cash prize of RM2,000, MMU scholarship worth RM36,500.00 for each member and certificate.
