We are proud to announce that a team which was composed of two Multimedia University (MMU) students and a Nottingham University student was crowned champion in the KPMG Ideation Challenge 2020 in Petaling Jaya. Mentored by Dr Ng Kok Why from Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), the team received the prize and certificate from Mr Siew Chin Kiang, the Chief Operating Officer in KPMG Malaysia on 13 February 2020. KPMG is a multinational professional services network, and one of the Big Four accounting organisations in the world.

Four MMU students namely Niroshaan A/L P. Ramis, Muhammad Fayyads Samsulbaharu, Belle Amanda Saidon, and Nurul Nadhirah Mohd Roslan from Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and Faculty of Management (FOM) participated in the competition. They were assigned to different teams in which the team members were from different academic backgrounds and universities. Before the challenge began, the participants joined a half-day workshop to brush up their creative thinking. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shahrul Kamal Kamaruddin, Associate Director of IT, KPMG Malaysia. Also attending was Mr. Alvin Gan, Executive Director of IT, KPMG Malaysia.

The winning team which comprised of Niroshaan, Belle and Poa Yee Shuang (Nottingham University) had pitched impressively and outstandingly on the topic of Job Recruitment Using Advance Technologies such as Chatbot, Augmented Reality in gamification, Artificial Intelligent, and others to enhance the current recruitment system. On 30 March – 2 April 2020, Belle and three other best presenters selected from different teams will represent KPMG Malaysia to compete in Korea.
