Four Government – Linked Universities (GLU) comprising of Multimedia University (MMU), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) had successfully hosted the GLU Jelajah Pendidikan 2020 at PECC, Sunway Carnival Seberang Jaya Pulau Pinang from 12 February until 15 February 2020.  The event was also supported by Jabatan Pendidikan Pulau Pinang and Majlis Guru Kaunseling Kebangsaan Negeri Pulau Pinang.

More than 2,000 students together with their accompanying teachers participated in the four-day event. This annual effort serves as an avenue to boost the public’s awareness of the GLU branding as well as to promote the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programmes offered by the universities. The event also was enlivened with many interesting activities including F1 Simulator, workshops and many more.

The launching ceremony was graced by Yang Berhormat (YB) Nurul Izzah  Anwar, Member of Parliament of Permatang Pauh. The event also witnessed the presence of Prof. Dr. Ho Chin Kuan, Acting President of MMU; Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice-Chancellor of UTP and Chairman of Alliance of Government- Linked Universities; Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha, Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN; Professor Dato Dr. Khairanum Subari, Deputy President Student Development Campus Lifestyle (UniKL); Mr. Zahari Zakariah, the Deputy Education Director, Student Development Sector, State Education Department of Pulau Pinang and other representatives from other universities.
