A group of 29 students participated in an industrial visit to Frost and Sullivan company in Kuala Lumpur on 3 January 2020. Organised by the IT Society club, the visit aimed to provide MMU students with insights on working experience and to take a closer look at the possible future career paths. Mr. Roy Chang Kwang, the club advisor of the IT Society accompanied the students during the visit. The company provided a tour with a comprehensive sharing session by their experienced consultants and researchers.
The students gained a clearer understanding of the current trends in certain areas such as “Research as a Service” (RAAS), “Competitive Intelligence” and many more. The students were exposed to the RAAS including market sizing, growth forecasting, project feasibility assessment, investment decision support, project evaluation, and market entry assessment. They were able to get the idea of related processes when completing the client’s request. The speaker also elaborated on some examples of the projects that they are currently working on. The students managed to gain more insights and the visit can always bridge the gaps between theoretical training and physical learning in a real-life environment.
