A total of 120 students from seventeen private and public universities participated in the Accounting Students Conference at Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya recently. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Management (FOM) for the second year and it was led by Cyberjaya Accounting Club (CAC) in continuing MIA’s commitment to the development and advancement of the accountancy profession.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Ir. Dr. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, Vice President of Research & Innovation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nahariah Jaafar, Dean of FOM and Dr. Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan, CEO of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. The two-day event was filled with interactive sessions with professional trainers from sponsoring bodies and informative talks on new changes in the accounting profession. In addition, the activities also targeted soft skill development which is line with this year’s theme, “A Spectrum of Millennial Accountants”. The participants were also exposed to teamwork and leadership qualities through group activities during the conference.
