Fikri Suhaimi, our Virtual Reality student from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) and his team members were announced as the grand prize winner at South East Asia (SEA) Game Jam Level Up 2019 in Kuala Lumpur recently. Organised by Level Up, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the event gathered game developers from all over the SEA region to create games in a collaborative environment based on a theme within a 36-hour game jam. Fikri and his team members namely Alex Ong (Unity Developer), Nic Chin (Designer), Stevannus (KDU) and Felix Leong (Magnus Studio) received a 32 inch Acer Predator Monitor during the prize-giving ceremony.

On the other hand,  “Chandu VR: Tribute to Malay Regiment”, a virtual reality game project from FCM’s second-year students namely Adnan Jazlan, Caleb Yong, Amer Faiz, and Amirul Afiq, was nominated as top 3 finalist for the Best Student Game for SouthEast Asia (SEA) Game Awards from the total entries of more than 90 game project submissions. The award recognises the overall best game developed by students from the Southeast Asia region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and others.
