Dr. Sharmini Gophinathan, Prof. Murali Raman and Dr. Kanesaraj Ramasamy, which represented Multimedia University (MMU) bagged top prize for an innovative app invention at the International Invention Innovation Competition (iCAN) in Canada recently. Organised by Toronto International Society of Innovation and Advanced Skills (TISIAS), the team swept two awards namely Gold Award and Special Invention Award.

The App was nominated in the Gamified Teaching Strategies for the 21st Century category and it was hailed as being able to provide a wonderful fun learning environment among students. It also has the ability to entice the younger generation towards education and lecturers are able to monitor students’ progress based on the points obtained in the game. In addition, the game is derived from the popular, “Snakes and Ladder” board games with the only difference where the students must answer a question at each number they stop on to progress. The game is flexible as it can be modified to suit any subjects.

Congratulations!
