The Faculty of Engineering (FOE) organised the Taiwan Job Fair in Cyberjaya recently. The event was attended by students and alumni from engineering and various other fields. The organiser honoured delegates from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Taiwan and representatives from eight Taiwanese companies.
The event began with opening remarks by Mr. James Chang, Deputy Director General of the Department of Investment Services, MOEA, Taiwan, and Dr. Hezerul Abd Karim, Deputy Dean of FOE. Following that, Dr. Bill Wu, Research Analyst from the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), Taiwan, presented an informative and interesting talk on working and living in Taiwan. The audience was also treated to brief introductions and multimedia presentations from each of the companies present for the interview sessions.
Many positions, ranging from electronics and computer / information technology to business, were on offer from the participating companies such as Delta Electronics and Realtek Semiconductor. The walk-in interview sessions saw final year students and recently-graduated alumni waiting with their CVs in hand to meet and speak with the representatives. The enthusiasm displayed by both the job seekers and recruiters was positively encouraging.
Well done!
