A group of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) hosted “Program Persediaan Minda Remaja ke Menara Gading” as a part of the University Social Responsibility (USR) in Melaka. The programme was another collaborative initiative between FET and Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) Melaka which focusing on teen’s development.
Attended by 68 students from 9 high schools around Melaka, the event aimed to plant interests among students on pursuing tertiary education especially in engineering courses available at MMU. The session started with motivational and self-enrichment talks by the lecturers, followed by a sharing session and campus tour in FET and around MMU with the facilitators. The participants had a chance to visit FET labs, other facilities in MMU, and ask questions regarding engineering courses, lab equipment and facilities.
During the sharing session, the facilitators shared their student life in MMU and gave a pep talk to encourage the students to do well in their studies and follow their dreams. The program ended with a speech by FET dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazly Salleh Abas, followed by certificates giving ceremony.
