We are proud to announce that Lim Tze Ming and Muhamad Arami Adnan from the Faculty of Business (FOB) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), respectively secured gold medals at the 6th Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Taekwondo Championship 2019 in Melaka recently. Both of them won the senior and junior categories poomsae respectively. Another student, Jacky Chan Kian Tong from FOB also clinched a bronze medal in senior category.

In addition, 15 students which represented MMU Taekwondo Club participated in Help Invitational Taekwondo Championship 2019 in Selangor on 6 July 2019. The students competed with other teams in four different categories namely Female Junior Category, Male Junior Category, Male Senior Category and Male Team Sparring. The students managed to obtain 2 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals in the competition. Another taekwondo achievement was Vissharwin Kumar from FOB won silver medal at the Grand Final National Junior and Senior Taekwondo Circuit Malaysia 2019 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Apart from that, three teams from MMU participated in the Dragon Boat International Competition in Melaka recently. The competition was held in conjunction with Visit Melaka 2019. The competition was joined by 35 teams consisting of local and international participants. As a result, MMU Team B won first runner-up in Close Category (200meter).

MMU also performed well in e-sports competition when MMU’s Melaka Dota 2 team won first runner up in the Alliance of Campus e-Sports (ACE) Championship 2019 in Cheras, Selangor recently. The team took home a cash prize of RM 4,800. Launched by eGG Network with the support of National Sports Council of Malaysia, the competition elevates new talents in e-sports amongst the varsity students.
