A group of 22 Mechanical Engineering (ME) students from Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) with four accompanying lecturers visited the Twin Shell Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Johor recently. The visit was jointly organised by the Industrial Linkage Committee (ILC) and the ME Programme to enhance their learning through the practical working environment and to promote engagement between industries and the faculty. During the visit, the group was given a briefing on the current and future prospect of manufacturing industries in line with Industry 4.0 by Mr. Chuah Chong Syn, the Operation Manager. The company has invested numerous precision equipment to expand its automation services as long term preparation to embrace opportunities and challenges in the future. The students also experienced a plant tour to catch a glimpse at the high precision laser machines and its manufacturing processes.

In another occasion, Faculty of Management (FOM) lecturers conducted an engaging programme with 84 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tinggi Port Dickson at MMU Cyberjaya recently. The students were exposed to courses and facilities offered by FOM as this programme served as a two-prong strategy of which is beneficial to the school as in advising students on courses and selection of higher learning institutions whereas, it also serves as a seeding ground for MMU. Meanwhile, students’ engagement was further reinforced through fun activities including maths quiz and word search activities which was well received by the participants of the programme.
