Multimedia University (MMU) further fortified its position as the Premier Digital Tech Institutes when the university is continuously recognised as one of the senior institutes in Premier Digital Tech which was accorded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) on 17 June 2019.
On behalf of MMU, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, the MMU President received the award from Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd. Salleh Jaafar, the Deputy Director General, Higher Education, Ministry of Education in a ceremony at Auditorium, Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Cyberjaya.
MMU was among the first batch to receive the award in 2017, and this year, Yang Berhormat (YB) Dr. Maszlee Malik, the Minister of Education, announced three new local universities (HELP University, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman) obtaining the Premier Digital Tech Institutions recognition, expanding the current line-up to a total of 16 institutions.
Our university stands tall as one of the pioneers of Premier Digital Tech Institutes, who was applauded by the government as the top institutions in producing talents and future leaders not only in digital tech, but other industries such as manufacturing and agriculture that can deliver first-class theoretical and practical training.
The Premier Digital Tech Institutions provide an optimum ecosystem to prepare graduates to meet industry standards. Any higher institutions applying for Premier Digital Tech Institutions recognition must undergo a range of meticulous assessment processes to ensure they provide industry relevant tech education and facilities. Upon receiving the recognition, these institutions act as benchmarks for others and serve as an easily identifiable badge of quality for aspiring digital tech students.
