Career Connect, in collaboration with Centre for Alumni (CFA) organised a series of talks with MMU alumni and industry players in last April at Melaka campus. The events served as an avenue in introducing the career centre to students, reaching alumni to giving back to its alma mater and engaging with industry.

Mr. Selva A (Class of 2004) gave a talk to a number of new students on employability and profiling questionnaires to match the industry’s needs. Using Talent NEXT Profiling Questionnaire, students were able to understand and apply their skill with their interest in reaching their future career. Other than that, Mr. Siraj Kumar, a Senior Analyst of Maybank Berhad (Alumnus of FET) conducted a talk entitled “From Panic to Power”, which focused on countering fears and challenging themselves to do beyond.

Another inspiring session, Hope and Recovery, gathered Mr. William (Alumnus of FET) and Ms Anne Marie (Alumna of FOB) alongside with MMU Counsellors namely Ms. Nur Ramizah Alasari and Ms Norhidayu explained on their up and down stories and how to overcome challenges in life. The forum was moderated by Mr Firdaus Razak (Alumnus of FOB). In addition, Canon Malaysia also featured their photography Workshop for students to learn basic photography. The students were also encouraged to capture their career opportunity in photography.

During the Read@Uni Week, Mr. Yeo Kheng Keen (Alumnus of FET) highlighted on how to be hireable graduates and the current trends of hiring in the industry. Mr. Yeo is an After Sales Manager at Kah Motor Co Sdn Bhd. The final session was completed by a campus talk and career workshop by Gamuda, a multi-award winning of engineering and construction Company in Malaysia. Gamuda also offered the internship and job opportunities to the students. All the sessions were fruitful and set a clearer pathway for MMU students.
