Alang Arif Aqil Muhammad Ghazali, a student from Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) received the Ministry of Education (MOE) Sports Scholarship during an appreciation hi-tea ceremony at MMU Cyberjaya recently. The scholarship was presented by Mr Tony Azman Hassan, Chief Assistant Secretary for Sports at the Higher Education Sector, Ministry of Education (MoE). Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Abdullah Sallehhuddin Abdullah Salim, the Director of STAD and Mr. Mohd Amin Abdullah Sani, the Senior Director of Human Capital Management (HCM) MMU.
The scholarship is an incentive for selected few students of the institute of higher learning who secured a remarkable and outstanding achievement in national and international sports tournaments together with good academic potential in their studies at universities. Alang Arif Aqil contributed bronze medal for Malaysia in the Archery-Compound category at the 18th Asian Games 2018 and other international prestigious tournaments.
Apart from that, more than 30 MMU athletes were feted as they received certificates at the ceremony. The event was organised to recognise their active contribution and sacrifice to win accolades in both national and international levels.
