Jobstreet.com, Malaysia’s leading recruiting portal, awarded MMU the ‘JobStreet.com Preferred Partner Programme’ (JPP 2019) status recently. The status is a satisfying distinction, since, out of 55 private universities in Malaysia, MMU was chosen together with only 9 other universities to be part of JPP 2019.

Essentially, the status reflects the portal’s recognition of MMU as a university that has strong collaboration with industries partners, fulfils the job market demand & supply, is highly recommended by employers, and produces high quality of the candidates for the industries.

Effective immediately, MMU would be able to use JobStreet.com Preferred logo, whereas JobStreet.com will place all its partners’ logo and information in a dedicated website. The portal will also promote MMU’s final year students to JobStreet.com’s 90,000 employers for employment.

The award was presented by Mr. Gan Bock Herm, JobStreet.com’s Country Manager to Dr. Abdullah Sallehhuddin Abdullah Salim, the Director of Student Affairs Division (STAD) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Petaling Jaya. Also attending the ceremony were Ms. Jasmine Abdullah, the Head of Centre For Alumni (CfA), together with STAD officers, Mr. Khairre Abd Rahman and Mr. Baktiar Hasnan.

STAD, through its MMU Career Connect initiative, regarded the awarding of the status as very beneficial to MMU’s students and graduates, as it would better connect them to the industries and job markets. The status is another feather in the initiative’s hat, following it receiving, in 2018, sponsorship of RM40,000 from the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC), as well as making a number of collaboration initiatives with industries, such as Citigroup, WOBB, Iconix and etc.
