A group of 34 students of Faculty of Information and Technology (FIST) together with four Faculty staff made an educational visit to the Center for Knowledge and Communication Service (PPPK), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). The center is responsible for providing an Information Technology (IT) environment that can contribute towards academic excellence as well as administrative efficiency in the university.
The visit was organised as one of the activities initiated by the Centre of Intelligent Cloud Computing (CICC), FIST in order to support the student learning experience at the university. It aims to expose the IT students to the actual environment of IT support and enable the students to observe the setup and maintenance of IT infrastructure within an organisation. The students were briefed on the current IT technology, infrastructure, career prospects as well as life as an IT staff. This educational visit gave a new experience to students on how the PPPK UTeM operates its data centre as it helps them to relate the theory to application.
