It has become a tradition for Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), alumni and students to gather each year to nurture a lifelong relationship and to move forward as a resilient team. With its theme “Together Towards Tomorrow”, FET and MMU Melaka Engineering Society played host to E-Voyage 2018: FET Alumni Homecoming at Hotel Ramada Plaza, Melaka recently. The dinner brought together 200 invitees, including alumni from all across the years, eager to rekindle ties with their alma mater.
Key engagement moments include an exciting tower-building game that promotes team spirit and an insightful sharing session by three prominent alumni. Mr. Pang Wei Lao (Class of 2006), Founder and Managing Director of Inchz IOT Sdn Bhd, shared on sense of responsibility and positive attitudes along work-life journey, Mr. Tan She Yong (Class of 2010), Co-founder and CEO of BiiB, focused on taking challenges and being perseverance in entrepreneurship and Mr. Indera Shaiful Baharudin (Class of 2005), Operations Director of Noorisba Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd and The Tailor Sdn Bhd, gave credence to the importance of non-technical competency and lifelong learning. The alumni also expressed that tertiary education in MMU has embedded them with valuable traits and knowledge that helped them to advance into better undertakings.
Prof. Dr. Ho Chin Kuan, MMU Vice President of Academic and Internationalisation, presented the Best Peer Tutor Award to three peer tutors for their excellent contribution. The invitees also took part in a lively lucky draw and cheered to the crowning of E-Voyage King and Queen. The joyous and cordial event ended with guests exchanging contacts and well-wishes, promising to return for the next homecoming dinner.
