Multimedia University (MMU) continues to uphold its remarkable achievements in the world sports arena when the university’s athletes contributed three gold medals for Malaysia in the 19th ASEAN University Games in Myanmar on 16 December 2018.
Mohd. Alang Ariff Aqil Muhammad Ghazali, a student of Diploma of Motion Graphic from Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) won a gold medal for Malaysia in archery compound event (Individual Category) and silver medal (Team Category). For the record, Alang Arif Aqil also had bagged bronze medal in the 18th Asian Games 2018 held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, in September 2018.
Aside from that, Tan Li Ting, an Accounting student won two gold medals in Individual and Team Female Chess Category in the 19th ASEAN University Games. On the other hand, Muhammad Khairi Mustaffa from Faculty of Management (FOM) won bronze medal in Football, while Low Meng Lek from Faculty of Business (FOB) and Wee Yong Gan from Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) secured bronze medal for Malaysia in Basketball Team Category at the same international sport tournament.
Meanwhile, MMU squash team consisted of Jesse Foo Kok Sheng from Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Kan Chern Hann from the Faculty of Computing Informatics (FCI), Muhammad Faiez Amran from Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and Toh Xin Yi from FOB won a Bronze medal in the Carnival Squash Inter Varsity organised by Ministry of Education (MOE) at Universiti Malaya (UM) on 16 December 2018.
