Dr Ridzwan Bakar, a lecturer from Faculty of Management (FOM) was invited as the Guest Speaker at the 8th Global Islamic Microfinance Forum (GIFF) in Dubai recently. The Global Islamic Microfinance Forum (GIFF) is an annual gathering platform where practitioners and experts meet to share and discuss current issues on global Islamic microfinance best practices.
He also delivered a talk on ‘Waqf Value Based Industrial Revolution 4.0’. Later, he participated as a panel member in the Forum on uplifting Waqf Based Economy as a solution to the current challenging global business environment.
Dr Ridzwan was honoured by two recognitions when he received a Certificate of Appreciation from His Excellency Ambassador II Senegal, Mr Cheikhouna Mbacke, for his contribution in Waqf and Islamic microfinance. Dr Ridzwan has also been conferred a Fellowship of Bank Waqf International (BWI) based in Jakarta. The fellowship grants him an annual consultancy and research grant of USD700 for Waqf Fintech innovation studies. This outstanding achievement will position Multimedia University (MMU) as an institution of the expert in Waqf, Islamic Finance and Social Science innovation.
