MMU Lecturer Receives Appreciation at National Level

The contribution of Dr. Ridzwan Bakar, a lecturer from Faculty of Management (FOM) to the development of Waqaf manual for the country, was highly recognised by the government. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from Yang Berhormat Dr. Mujahid Rawa, the Minister at Prime Minister Department on 11 October 2018 in conjunction with the launching of National Wakaf Manual for Education.

Dr. Ridzwan led Cluster III of the Wakaf Manual focusing on Waqf Accounting and Auditing. The findings and report will be a guide for Accountant’s General Office to issue specific Waqf Accounting Standard for Malaysia.

This comprehensive Wakaf Manual project by Jabatan Wakaf, Zakat and Hajj (JAWHAR) took 12 months to complete with 19 experts from various fields from IPTAs, Practitioners and State Religious Councils (MAIN). The Manual has 248 pages with eleven chapters, and the content of Chapter Nine and Ten was contributed by Dr. Ridzwan’s team.
