FOB Lecturers and Students Elevate the Awareness on Screen Dependency Disorder amongst High School Students

A total of 65 Form 3 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan St Francis (SFI) participated in an awareness campaign on Screen Dependency Disorder (SDD) on 8 November 2018 in Melaka. Three FOB lecturers namely Ms Sharmila Rani Moganadas, Ms Hasmida bt Jamaluddin and Mr Vincent Chan together with their students took this initiative to edify the school students on its effect on human’s health and well-being.

Mr. Vincent Chan shared his valuable insights and personal experience on “Limitless Screen Time: Is it a boon or a bane?” which covered on the symptoms and impacts of the SDD. The FOB students facilitated the activities whereby the participants needed to brainstorm on the solutions for SDD issue, where there were many creative and relevant solutions were gathered during the session. By facilitating, our students managed to practice their communication and teamwork skills and they received good feedback from the school students as well as the teachers.
