As part of the initiative to further cement its position as the industry-preferred university, our Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) Banking and Finance offered by Faculty of Business (FOB) has been included in the prestigious Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute University Affiliation Programme.

MMU has embedded a significant component of the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) including the Code of Ethics and Standard of Professional Conduct to be eligible to be included in this prestigious programme. As an affiliated programme, graduates of the BBA (Hons) Banking and Finance programme will be in better demand as it signifies that the curriculum is closely aligned to the practice of investment and is helpful to students in preparing for their CFA Program examinations.

In conjunction with this affiliation, Mr. Chong Jin Yoong, the Honorary Secretary of the CFA Society Malaysia was invited by the faculty to deliver a talk to nearly 150 final year students at Melaka campus recently. Associate Prof Dr. Gerald, Dean of FOB delivered the opening speech and emphasised on the significance of this prestigious affiliation for the university.

In his talk, Mr. Chong enlightened the students with the standard of the CFA programme in the finance industry. The talk also covered the requirements, format, fees and schedule of the CFA exam as well as the available scholarship. He also emphasised on the importance of ethics in the CFA programme. The talk was then followed by the Q&A session with the audience.  The banking and finance department hopes that such a collaboration would give our students a niche in the current competitive market and further enhance its position as the industry-preferred banking and finance programme in the region.
