A total of 119 accounting students from Faculty of Business (FOB) participated in 2 hours session with Mr Vincent Hah and his team from Deloitte recently. The talk was held in the Main Hall and it focused on personal grooming, interview skills sharing and resume writing.
Realising the importance of preparing the students to secure a good job placement, FOB managed to get Deloitte, a multinational professional service firm that has the largest revenue and number of professionals among the Big 4 to share their experience. Therefore, the talk has been immensely valuable that, not only the students are exposed to the services provided by Deloitte such as audit, tax, risk and financial advisory, they are also introduced to the emerging trend of huge data processing by Deloitte’s data analytics team.
With the knowledge and skills obtained from the career talk, the faculty received positive feedback from the students, mostly highlighting on the personal grooming session that emphasises on first impression. Moving forward, FOB will continue to commit in producing graduates that physically and mentally prepared alongside with adequate educational background. A big congratulations to the committee members amongst FOB lecturers who had initiated this program – Ms Gan Chin Yee (project leader), Mr Azizi (the Head of Accounting Department), Dr Lim Yhing Zhee, Dr Yip Yen Yen, Ms Saleha and Dr Akhma
