We are pleased to announce that Ir. Prof. Dr. Sim Kok Swee from Faculty of Engineering and Technology was selected as a research fellow for Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) under the “JSPS Invitational Fellowship for Research in Japan” recently. The fellowship involves in research discussions, seminars, lectures and also to perform duties at the host institution, Chiba University in Japan.
The objective of JSPS is to promote research activities at center of e-health and interchange research information and activities between two universities. The fellowship also provides opportunities for delegates to exchange new ideas and application experiences face to face, to establish research relations as well as to find global partners for future collaboration such as Virtual Reality for Rehabilitation, Home Bio-Monitoring Mobile Robot, Electrophysiological Simulation – Research and Development of Needle Electromyography Exam (NEE) Robotic Simulator, Surgery Support Robot, and Lower Limb Assist.
Prof. Sim has led his postgraduate students namely Tan Jin Long, Ting Fung Fung, Lim Zheng You, Toa Chean Khim, Lim Chon Chen for the research collaboration between MMU and Chiba University in the areas of Kinect, Virtual Reality, Brain Wave Control, Wheel Chair, and Scooter.
