Multimedia University (MMU) bagged a total of 20 medals, consisting a big sweep of 9 Gold Medals, 9 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals at the 29th International Invention and Innovation & Technology Exhibition 2018 (ITEX 2018) in KL Convention Centre recently.
Five Gold Medals went to Faculty of Information Science & Technology (FIST) while Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) received two Gold medals, Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) (one Gold medal) and Faculty of Engineering (FOE) (one Gold medal) in two different categories namely Competition Category and Start-Up Category.
On top of that, the FOE lecturers and students, Dr. Ooi Chen Pun, Dr. Tan Wooi Haw, Abubaker Faisal Abubaker Sherif, Suheib Faisal Abubaker Sherif, Mr. Zainudin Siram, Mr. Ku Ahmad Adzam Ku Saud and Mr. Cham Chin Leei won the Gold & Best Invention in the Start-Up Category. They received the medal through their outstanding project entitled ‘Ursecure: Lora Driven Home Security System for Residential Community’.
ITEX is one of the largest invention exhibitions in the world and it showcases the best inventions from Asia and Europe with more than 20 countries participated in this exhibition this year.
