On 14 February 2018, Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, President of MMU paid a courtesy call on Yang Berhormat Senator Admiral (Ret) Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Mohd Anwar Hj Mohd Nor, Chairman Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) at his office in Menara LTAT, Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was also attended by Datin Noorlindah Hassan, Director of Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM).
During the meeting, the Prof. Rafi conveyed his appreciation and congratulations on behalf of MMU to YB Senator Admiral (Ret) Tan Sri Dato’ Setia on his appointment as Independent Chairman of Joint Management Committee, MMU Knowledge Waqf/Endowment Fund. President also presented a briefing on YUM and MMU, as well as various achievements and initiatives taken by MMU. President also outlined possible collaborations with LTAT and invited YB Senator Admiral (Ret) Tan Sri Dato’ Setia to visit MMU and to give talk as part of MMU’s CEO Talks series. YB Senator Admiral (Ret) Tan Sri Dato’ Setia has shared his views in producing quality and resilient graduates and also expressed his interests in YUM waqf initiatives.
YUM has been appointed by Selangor Wakaf Corporation (PWS) to manage MMU Knowledge Waqf/Endowment Fund via a Joint Management Committee. This is another platform for YUM to raise fund for students’ financial aids and funding the improvement in teaching and learning facilities and research sponsorships.
