Faculty of Management (FOM) hosted a talk entitled ‘TRIZ, Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ by Dr. Sergei Ikovenko, the President of the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ) and the adjunct professor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also one of the leading consultants and project facilitators in innovation technology of design.
The talk was attended by more than 50 participants including students, academics and industry practitioners at Siri Lab, MMU Cyberjaya recently. Dr. Sergei shared the development of TRIZ or Theory for Inventive Problem Solving tools as well as his experience in using the TRIZ tools to innovate and to solve industry problems. He also elaborated more about the tools with patent circumvention.
Besides that, Dr. Sergei also conducted the MATRIZ Level 3 certification training where the participants were given a walkthrough of the TRIZ tools. At the end of the training, the participants went through a four-hour certification test, which comprised of an oral interview and written test. A total of 26 participants were certified as MATRIZ Level 3 professionals, including Ir. Dr. Ng Poh Kiat from Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and Dr. Ong Jeen Wei from FOM.
