Ingenious Mind Challenge (IMC) 2021

On the 27th and 29th of August, students from Multimedia University, Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universiti Pertamina, Indonesia, participated in the Ingenious Mind Challenge 2021. It was like an international virtual gathering of young minds to learn and exchange knowledge for the entrepreneurial-based competition that emphasizes the identification and solving of the social problems faced by the disabled community. The competition resembled the concept of Start-Up weekend whereby all the participants will have a series of training, discussion and ideation sessions, and finally, the pitching session over the three days. 17 teams in total participated, which was absolutely fantastic.

The Ingenious Mind Challenge (IMC), now in its fifth year, was superbly organised by the Faculty of Management (FOM) in collaboration with the Faculty of Management Society (FOMS). Each year, IMC has gone from strength to strength, growing year on year. This year, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has generously contributed to the event as sponsors. The Program Advisor created the atmosphere, Ms Norzarina Md Yatim, the trainers’ Ms Diyana Abdul Mahad and Dr Abdul Aziz Ahmad. The support from the FOM dean, Dr Mohd Fairuz bin Abdul Rahim, lecturers, and students was phenomenal. It ensured that the participants were competing and exploring new branches of learning outside the traditional classroom.

A lot of work goes into making a competition successful, and the sponsors of the IMC 2021 deserving of a massive thank you for their generosity. Cash prizes were provided for the winners of the competition. Congratulations to team Skill.Up, gaining to top spot out. Silent Ninjas took second place and Warriors, third place. Well done!
