Introduction
Center for Fiber Networking and Communications (CFNC) is a research center in Multimedia University that focuses on the design, fabrication and characterization of fiber-based devices for communication systems and sensor applications. Some of FORC’s sensor-related projects include radiation dosimetry for healthcare and naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) and distributed sensing (acoustic, pressure, temperature and electromagnetic) for oil and gas applications. Specialty optical fiber projects include fabrication of rare-earth doped fibers for fiber amplifiers, fiber lasers and fiber sensors.
