Functions to the Nation

• To increase joint research collaborations with industries in the relevant focus areas
• To form a link between academics and industries in terms of human resource development and for consultancy work.
• To be a training centre for cross-disciplinary research, both at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
• To inculcate a culture of innovation and creativity among staff members and students.
• To initiate and maintain state-of-the-art R & D facilities to sustain the faculty well into the future
• To conduct short courses and consultancy to interested parties in the areas of:– Circuit Design and Applications of Microprocessors and Microcontrollers
  – Semiconductor Materials and Devices for Opto-electronics and Nano-electronics
  – Silicon-based Technology
  – Thin Film and Nano-Material Deposition and Characterisation
  – Smart Material and Devices for Emerging Applications, e.g. Smart Window & Smart Farming Aplications
  – Intelligent System Control and Modelling
  – RFID/MEMS – Energy Harvester circuit design using ambient energy
