Synopsis:
Under the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) Program, the third generation (3G) mobile services of all the 3G networks in Malaysia by mobile network operators (MNOs) will be gradually retired by December 2021. This process is termed as 3G sunsetting. The completion of 3G network sunsetting will then enable the MNOs to provide faster and better 4G experience.
About the speaker:
Ts. Dr. Ahmad Nasruddin ‘Atiqullah Fakrullah has extensive experience in the mobile telecommunication industry, both technical and regulatory aspects. He possesses cross-functional knowledge, having tacit and explicit knowledge of serving in the telecommunication industry and also with Malaysia’s communications and multimedia regulator. He was the chairman for 5G TestBed Working Group, National 5G Task Force in 2019 and currently he is chairing the 3G Sunset Task Force.
