Delivering Lecture on Human-Computer Interaction Design for Web
Dr. Liew Tze Wei, our academic member from the Faculty of Business (FOB) conveyed a virtual guest lecture on “Human-Computer Interaction Design for Web” on 6 October 2023. Organised by Telkom University in Indonesia, the lecture focused on enhancing usability and user acceptance in web design by incorporating cognitive, social, and emotional frameworks. Dr. Adhi Prasetio, assistant professor at Telkom University, hosted the event, which attracted 704 attendees representing a diverse range of academic disciplines, including engineering, business, media studies, and business.
Dr. Liew emphasised the importance of a holistic approach to web design, considering cognitive, social, and emotional aspects. The insights accentuated the need for a user-centric web experience by optimizing sensory attention, inducing positive emotions, and eliciting social- and telepresence through contemporary tools such as avatars, chatbots, metaverse, games, and voice user interfaces. The event’s success demonstrates the collaborative commitment between MMU and Telkom University for academic and research knowledge sharing.
