MMU Team Named Semi Finalists at the HSBC Malaysia Business Case Competition 2023
Our team of four students consisting of Ashman Hadiff, Grace Hay Ning Shuang, Heshvienie Vijayaratnam, and Ryan Kerk Kok Thian from the Faculty of Business (FOB) mentored by Dr Tan Pei Kian, successfully emerged as one of the semi-finalists at the HSBC Business Case Competition 2023. The opening round and semi-finals were held virtually on the 3rd and 10th April 2023 respectively. Our team managed to advance to the semi-finals as part of the top 8 universities in Malaysia after competing with 18 universities in the preliminary round.
Organised by Enactus Malaysia Foundation, the HSBC Malaysia Business Case Competition 2023 is a unique platform for undergraduates to implement their practical knowledge into a test within the span of 6 hours by dissecting and analysing the entire case study, followed by a 20-minute presentation and a 15-minute Q&A session.
This competition is dubbed by many as the hardest business case competition in Malaysia as the young undergraduates are not only presented with a complex case that requires the application of critical thinking and business skills into real-life business scenarios, but they are alongside being judged by panels from various spectrums which includes, HSBC executives, business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from business fields in Malaysia.
Well done!
