FOB Students Attend Strategic Credit Talk by ICAEW
A total of 90 students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) attended a Strategic Credit Talk in the FOB Conference Room on 8 August 2023. A discussion was hosted by Dr. Susan Chin, featuring Mr. Andrew Yew, Senior Recruitment Manager of ICAEW as the lead speaker. The students were exposed to the ACA Strategic Credits programme, which allows students to receive credit for their previous learning in specific ACA modules.
Close collaboration between the ICAEW and several Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) has led to the creation of unique opportunities for students pursuing a prestigious professional accountancy qualification. Through the ICAEW’s Strategic Partnerships, students who possess or are working towards academic qualifications can access distinct pathways to obtain ICAEW credentials. These partnerships offer significant benefits to both students and employers, making them highly desirable programs for ambitious individuals.
MMU has established Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that enable students to take professional exams (ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA & CPA Australia) before graduation. Furthermore, students may benefit from potential fee waivers of up to RM5,400. Additionally, MMU has arranged tuition agreements with external parties for ACCA, CPA Australia, and ICAEW. It is hoped that the attendees would gain insightful information about becoming professional accountants in the future.
