FOB Students Acquire Eye-Opening Experience at Malaysia Prison Museum
A group of students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) had an insightful experience during their visit to the Malaysia Prison Museum in Melaka on 22 August 2024. Led by Lai Jin Kang and accompanied by Ms. Nor Fauziana Ibrahim, an FOB lecturer, the visit was part of the Event Management subject, aiming to provide students with practical examples to complement their coursework.
Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by Sarjan Bakri, who gave a detailed overview of the museum’s history and its role in Malaysia’s penal system. This presentation set the stage for a meaningful exploration of the museum’s exhibits, including old prison cells, punishment tools, and others. This immersive visit not only broadened the students’ understanding of the penal system but also highlighted how museums can be utilized as effective platforms for educational events.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for the students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications, fostering a deeper appreciation of how experiential learning can be leveraged to educate and inspire.
