The Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted a virtual visitation by Mr. Louis Teh Chin Siang, the industrial advisor for the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Banking and Finance programme on 15 October 2021. Mr. Louis Teh is currently the Head of Retails Products and Channels at CGS-CIMB Securities Malaysia. The visit aimed at reviewing and assessing the degree programme and educational resources.

This event was kicked off with a welcoming speech by Dr. Lye Chun Teck, the Dean of FOB followed by a programme briefing by Dr. Venny Chong Sin Woon, Head of Department, Banking and Finance. Also attending were Dr. Ng Tuan Hock, Deputy Dean of Academic and International Relations as well as academic staff of the department.

Mr. Louis also engaged with staff and students in the morning. Following that, he also conducted a seminar entitled ‘What Investment Opportunities Lie Ahead of 2022’ to staff and students. The audience was introduced to fundamental and technical analysis strategies from the financial industry perspective. In addition, the speaker shared his insights on Malaysia’s market outlook in 4Q21. He further highlighted some important rules in investing and trading plans. At the end of the seminar, the audience interacted with the speaker, and they gained a deeper understanding of the investment opportunities.
