A group of MMU students, which called themselves as ‘Geng Bas Sekolah’ won second place in DOTA 2 at the XPAX e-Sports Campus Tournament on 28 April 2019 in Sunway Pyramid. MMU team was represented by students from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) namely Lim Chung Heng, Chua Wei Shen, Benjamin Koh, and also the Faculty of Business (FOB) students; Tan Sin Yie and Tan Kai Ren.

Hosted by Media Prima Digital through its game portal, MyGameOn, the event was sponsored by XPAX in its initiative to support and empower e-sports among youth. The first e-sports tournament featured three different popular games; Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 (PES2019) and DOTA 2. Our team received a cash prize of RM5,800, Boost voucher worth RM2000, Tambun voucher and medal. The champion for the DOTA 2 category won by International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) team.
