On a mission to bridge academic knowledge with industry innovation, a team from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology recently embarked on an insightful field trip to BIMAGE Consulting, a regional leader in digital transformation for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

The delegation was led by Dr. Ong Lee Yeng (Academic in Charge of Career and Industry Collaboration, and Huawei Academic Leader at MMU Melaka), accompanied by Dr. Leow and Dr. Goh, along with two promising students – Mr. Chan and Mr. Tong – who are potential candidates for MMU’s Master’s in Artificial Intelligence program.

During the visit, Mr. Donahue Chong, CEO of BIMAGE Consulting, shared the ongoing progress and key milestones of the BIM-MMU collaborative project. He emphasized the role of effective communication with civil engineers to improve project outcomes and highlighted how AI technologies can complement BIM to revolutionize the construction and facilities management sectors.

This visit marks another step forward in MMU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates through experiential learning and meaningful partnerships with leading tech-driven companies.
