FET Team Wins At Wsis Forum 2020 In Geneva
Awarded The Champion Of WSIS Prizes 2020 At The World Summit On The Information Society In Ict Applications: E-Science Category A team from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was awarded the Champion prizes at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2020 in “ICT Applications: E-Science” category. The event was held from 6th to 9th April at Geneva, Switzerland. WSIS Forum 2020 is organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations (UN) whose purpose is to coordinate telecommunication operations and services throughout the world. The awards were presented by ITU’s Secretary-general, Mr.Haolin Zhao. The FET team’s project was Breast Cancer Classification CAD through Multilayer Neural Network. lead by Ir. Prof. Dr. Sim Kok Swee, represented MMU to receive the prestigious award. WSIS and ITU serve as a combined platform to evaluate and recognize individuals, governments, civil society, local, regional and international agencies, research institutions and private sector companies for outstanding success in implementing development-oriented strategies that leverage the power of ICTs.
